Appearance:
Anise is, in all senses, a child, short and with a round face. She has chestnut-colored, curly hair pulled back into two pigtails with yellow ribbon, and wide brown eyes. She sports a pink dress that has the sleeves seperated from the dress itself; draped over it is a sort of white, bulky shawl with an intricate purple design on the front and purple lining. White tights with simple, black and brown shoes and white gloves complete her outfit.

There is also a small, makeshift yet very creepy doll latched onto her back. His name is Tokunaga; he has been enchanced with technology to allow him to grow big enough for Anise to ride comfortably on his back at her will.

Personality:
Anise is absolutely obsessed with money. She will do anything possible to get it, whether it be marrying rich or taking up meager jobs. (Because she wants to marry rich, she often flirts with rich men of all ages.) She also wants to gamble, but is annoyed by the fact that "she is too young" to do so, and tries to find ways around this. She also tends to be emotional and easily blackmailed, and is deeply sorry and self-critical when something tragic happens that she believes is her fault. Anise knows when to be serious and when to be lighthearted, possessing a sense of sympathy and a sense of humor in equal doses; for the most part, she is bright and cheery. She is also a talented actor, playing up her childlike appearance or slight helplessness in order to get things to go her way. When she believes rights have been violated or when she's been rubbed the wrong way, her personality takes a turn for the darker side and she becomes angry, dishing out threats to the person who has done wrong.

Anise also enjoys making off-color jokes occasionally and sees certain things the "wrong" way, making her perverted in that sense. She enjoys playfully teasing people she think have been hooking up somehow.

Abilities:
Anise is a jack-of-all-trades type of fighter, being skilled in magic and close combat. She rides on Tokunaga's back during battle and uses him to duke out any close combat she wants to get herself into. The magic she uses is mostly dark or light type magic. However, in Manhattan her magic abilities have been dulled significantly, and she finds the fon technology used to make Tokunaga grow bigger doesn't work anymore. This leaves her helpless to whatever trouble her new life wishes to throw her way.

Weaknesses:
Because of Anise's emotional personality, people are able to blackmail her using people she loves as targets. For this reason, she can find herself tearing away from anyone she has become loyal to in order to fufill the needs of the blackmailer, leaving her heartbroken at betraying her teammates. Because of her greediness, she will do anything short of killing, betraying, and self-mutilation to get money and a comfortable, stable life, making her an easy target for manipulation and cruelty. She latches on to people and clingy, making it hard for her to make completely unbiased decisions.

Physically, Anise is weak, and is beat up easily in battle without the aid of Tokunaga or anyone else. She is also easily frightened of certain things.

Manhattanite or outsider? Outsider

History:
Anise grew up in Daath. From the beginning, her family was dirt poor and, on top of that, owed a large debt to Grand Maestro Mohs. In order to work off the debt, Anise was forced to work as an Oracle Knight without pay, eventually becoming a Fon Master Guardian. She grew very attached to the Fon Master, Ion, and was a close friend of his; she also became a rival of another girl, Arietta, who was the former Fon Master Guardian and had her position (and, she believes, the Fon Master himself) taken away from her by Anise.

She was employed as a spy by Mohs, joining the main party and constantly monitoring their actions and reporting them back to Daath. However, she stayed for the friendships and teammates she made within the party, and grew attached to every one during their long journey together. Eventually, Mohs revealed to her plans for Ion to do something that could possibly kill him: read a certain section of the Score that would suck up much of Ion's powers. Mohs held her parents hostage in order to get her to comply.

And comply Anise did. She was forced to bring Ion to Mt. Zaleho and betray her teammates, and watch as Ion died before her very eyes. She believes to this very day that it was whole-heartedly her fault, and if not for her weakness Ion might still be alive. In spite of her betrayal, the party welcomes her back easily and comforts her.

On the final battle inside Eldrant, the group found themselves battling a group of particularly nasty monsters. A flying one managed to hit Anise on the head very, very hard, and she passed out. When she woke up, she did not find herselves amongst her friends, but staring up at skyscrapers, thoroughly confused and disoriented. EDIT: As of the sudden rush of Abyss characters joining, I'm playing Anise as someone who knows that Luke has freed Lorelei- ergo, she has fought Van and is making her way out of Eldrant with the rest of the main party. It's a bit of cheating, I know, but a mistake on my part made it look like Anise knows about the outcome of the Lorelei dealie, which screws up my earlier reasoning and creats a huge plot hole if I keep going as I was (and, really, in everything I started with regardless). Her cause of appearance in Manhattan is the same (hit by monster and KO'd), but otherwise, she now knows a vital plot point. As you will, Abyss crew!
